Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address and phone number. If you place an order, we also collect the delivery address and any order notes you provide.

Order information. Details of what you ordered, from which restaurant, the order value, and order status.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. MoreEat does not store your full card details — Stripe handles payment data directly under its own security standards and privacy policy.

Location information. If you choose to share your device location to find nearby restaurants, or enter a postcode, we use this to show relevant results. We do not track your location in the background.

Communications. If you contact us, or a restaurant contacts you about an order, we keep a record of that communication.

Usage and device information. Standard technical information such as your browser type, device type, and pages visited — collected via analytics, and only after you've accepted optional cookies (see "Cookie Policy" below).

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Pass your order details to the restaurant you're ordering from, so they can fulfil it
• Process payments (via Stripe)
• Operate our referral programme, platform loyalty programme, and each restaurant's own loyalty programme
• Send you service messages about your account or orders
• Send you marketing communications, where you've agreed to receive them — you can opt out at any time (see "Marketing" below)
• Detect and prevent fraud, and keep the platform secure
• Meet our legal and regulatory obligations

Our Legal Basis for Processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (creating your account, processing your order), legitimate interests (operating and improving the platform, preventing fraud), consent (marketing communications, optional analytics cookies), and legal obligation (accounting and tax records).

Restaurants and Your Order Data

MoreEat provides the underlying technology that restaurants on our platform use to take orders online — including restaurants that operate under their own branded website address. When you place an order, your order details (and the account information needed to fulfil it, such as your name, delivery address and phone number) are shared with the restaurant you ordered from, so they can prepare and deliver your order. Restaurants are responsible for how they use your order information for their own fulfilment and customer service purposes.

Sharing Your Information

We share your information with:

• The restaurant you order from — to fulfil your order (see above)
• Stripe, our payment processor, to process payments
• Google Analytics, only if you've accepted optional cookies, to help us understand how the site is used
• Email delivery providers, to send account, order and (where you've opted in) marketing emails
• Law enforcement or regulators, where we're legally required to

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, for some of the same purposes.

Essential Cookies (Always On)

These are required for the site to work and can't be switched off:

• Sign-in and session — keeps you signed in to your account as you move around the site.
• Storefront routing (`tenant_host`) — remembers which restaurant's site you're browsing, so the right pages and menu load.
• Cookie consent choice — remembers whether you've accepted or declined optional cookies (stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie).

We don't ask for consent to use these, since the site can't function without them.

Analytics Cookies (Optional)

Only set after you click Accept on our cookie banner:

• Google Analytics — helps us understand how the site is used (pages visited, general location, device type) so we can improve it.

You can decline these at any time without affecting your ability to browse or order.

Payment Cookies

When you check out, our payment processor Stripe may set its own cookies to detect fraud and keep the payment process secure. These are set only during checkout and are managed by Stripe under its own privacy and cookie policies, not by MoreEat.

Managing Your Cookie Choices

You can accept or decline optional (analytics) cookies at any time from the cookie banner shown on the site. Declining doesn't affect essential cookies, which are needed for the site to function. You can also clear cookies and browser local storage at any time through your browser settings — this may sign you out or reset saved preferences.

Marketing Communications

If you've agreed to receive marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email we send, or from your account settings. This won't affect transactional messages (such as order confirmations), which we send regardless, as they're necessary to provide the service.

Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. You can request deletion of your account at any time (see "Your Rights" below).

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated personal information — you can do this directly from your profile settings, or by contacting us
• Export a copy of your data in a portable format — also available directly from your profile settings
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (such as marketing or optional cookies)
• Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we haven't handled your information properly

Children's Privacy

MoreEat is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (such as Stripe and Google) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards required under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
